As experienced applicators with this product, first-time users often consult with us about their questions.  We are easily available by phone. Copper liquid paint is one product in our “bucket”.

My company, Roof Menders, focuses on restoring old metal roofs.  We use a number of finishes and liquid applications.  This rare formula, called copper liquid paint, is always a popular “bucket” paint. Over several decades, our work has evolved as liquid roofing products improved. At present, we are known for applying coating-style systems to the niche called old metal roofing–crimped standing seam, tin shingles, and soldered styles.

Copper liquid paint mimics the use of copper sheets commonly found on older roofing.  Creative individuals have adapted this coating for other purposes.

This website is designed for those with an interest in applying a substitute for copper sheets in various situations–gutters, public art displays, dormers, etc.

Our History

Both owner and crew chief began working on commercial roofing projects using white acrylics as an integral part of the system to create cool roofs. Commercial building owners quickly understood the economic value of a white roof over black surfaces.

After the turn of the century, urban centers with row houses began to appreciate the favorable impact of white roofing on “heat island” temperatures. For example, in 2003 in Baltimore, MD, Roof Menders applied the first cool roofs to rowhouses. Just a decade later, as Baltimore searches for methods to achieve success with carbon imprint requirements, white roofs are automatically included in any plans.

Old Metal Roofing Projects

When This Old House introduced the concept of applying acrylics as a method to preserve old metal roofing, Lester’s artistic talent discovered an outlet for his abilities. And this owner happily combined roofing work with her interest in history. Since 2000, vintage metal restoration work has become our signature in six states.

At some point, embossed tin shingle owners started calling; work expanded into this new “old” field, a truly small niche populated with owners dedicated to preserving their historic gem.
